Our Story

Heights Sewing Centre - Established 1935

A family owned business with classic customer service, Heights Sewing Centre in Pakington Street, Geelong West, is a Geelong institution. Owned by Ken Wilks and his wife Marjorie, our centre is just as well-known for our friendly staff as it is for our quality sewing machines.

Ken has been running the sewing centre for almost 60 years – his uncle, Les Height, and Les’ father started the business in 1935. Since then, four generations of Ken’s family have sold sewing machines and haberdashery.

Far from being just a shop, Heights Sewing Centre is a haven for sewing enthusiasts, and also a great starting point for people who want to learn about sewing.  It is a fun shop where we have lots of laughter and we enjoy people coming in.

Everyone who buys a machine from Heights Sewing Centre receives a free demonstration and advice about all aspects of sewing. Happy customers are the most import thing for Ken and his staff members who are all fully trained to ensure customers always leave informed and satisfied.

This enchanting and historic store is located at 176 Pakington Street, Geelong West, with a team of highly qualified and friendly staff that can assist you with anything you may need.
